It all begins when Patrick is convinced he saw his wife with another man at a downtown bar.
He begins to investigate. But the more Patrick uncovers about Jordan's activities, the less he understands.
The biggest problem is, Patrick can't decide how he really feels. On the one hand, his wife seems to be betraying him, and on the other, his sex life has reached a scorching pinnacle he never thought possible.
But he had better hold on to his hat, because when he finds out the truth, things will get much, much hotter than he might have ever imagined...

A situation involving "confirmation bias" can lead investigators or other professionals down the wrong path. But can it actually lead to discovery? And what if this revelation is unexpectedly exciting and dangerous? This is a intriguing story about Patrick (Paddy) a prosecutor who is confronted with possible "evidence"' that his wife Jordan may be having an affair (or affairs) and upon investigating that possibility makes some unexpected discoveries about himself and his wife. And even though he doesn't find what he thinks he is looking for, does he really find what he *truly* wants to find? Solving the mysteries makes things better (and much 'steamier') for them in many ways but can it also lead them to trouble?
This is a great read and the first two thirds of the book is a roller coaster "mystery" as the reader is not really sure what is going on. I will say that I figured out the twist before the reveal but not until just before it happened. It keeps you reading and wondering what is going on. The author does a really good job of creating suspense. I also like how she sets it up as a prosecutor evaluating "evidence" and engaging in investigation. Unlike many authors, her grasp of "legalese" is accurate and doesn't sound phony. Ultimately this is a story about a couple discovering things about themselves in spite of what they thought they knew or wanted to find. The question is, will their findings be good for them? Throughout the story and especially towards the end there is a sense of foreboding. Will their excitement and recklessness lead to disaster? The author promises a sequel so we'll have to wait to find out. I'm both excited and nervous for this couple.
This is great read and very well-written and definitely worthy of five stars!

A WellLaid Trap The Story Of A Professional Hotwife edition by Arnica Butler Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A bit of light hearted humour is sometimes a refreshing change in the sea of erotica titles and this book is actually pretty amusing. It's not uncommon for the husband's in this genre to be complete idiots ( in fact with some authors it's practically compulsory) but it's rare to find one that's narrator who is as acutely aware of his own weapons grade stupidity as the one portrayed here. It's highly entertaining to read and quite amusing. He's practically the Mr Bean of HW husbands and while subtle the humour is intended and well placed. This is a bit different to most of this authors books, it's not wall to wall sexy or dark and edgy or even particularly romantic as her last couple of books have been where she out Kenny'd Kenny. What it is however is a snapshot of the funnier side of sex and relationships. Now I did see the main twist coming a long way off ( actually within a few pages) but it was nicely written and quite entertaining so I didn't mind. There are some quite serious undertones underneath the main plot that probably needed further treatment but frankly that would of distracted from the "fun read" aspect of this book and it's not as if they were intrusive. Not your typical HW novella but a very enjoyable read.
I did not like it. It was very boring. It was not worth paying for..........
Interesting twist on a cuckold story.... fun to read!
I really enjoyed this book. In particular, the main couple were very likable and believable in the situations they got into, and seemed to have the just the right mix of sense-of-humor and sexual intensity. The wife, Jordan, is especially "well-drawn" and is easy for any man into this fantasy to desire, just as her husband does. Yes, you fall for her if you read this.
On the DOWN side, i found the first half of the book a little frustrating as the husband is a bit slow to pick up on what the reader already knows. (A fair share of books do this, i just don't care for it.) But it's definitely worth getting past this as the second half of the book is excellent, with the set-up for their adventures being nothing short of brilliant. That part is pretty perfect. I'm very glad there's a sequel. I'd read any and all.
This is a good solid erotic tale. The emotions were well crafted. I did think that the husband wife confrontation was underplayed when he called her out. The book was clearly a build up to the second book and hopefully it will expand further.
Excellent read! Loved the interplay between the main characters thought sometimes the husbands thoughts got to wordy and repetitive but the anguish he suffered wondering what his wife was thinking (or doing) was what made the story hot. The sex could have been more descriptive but still good. I liked this story and also bought the sequel.
This was my first book by this author and I will definitely read more. The characters are well developed and likable. There is no humiliation and they love each other. What I particularly enjoyed about this book was the story. It was suspenseful while progressing at a good pace, and there was certainly enough sex to keep my interest (after all, that's why we read these books, right?). The story was unlike any other Hotwife stories I have read . There were some twists and turns along the way and there was not the sense sense of inevitability, so often found in erotic fiction. Great book, check it out!
